39 weeks // bump update

Oh my goodness... It's been a whole TWO months since I have documented about my little bump's growth.
Where did the time go?!

How Far Along? 39 weeks! Hopefully we will have our little man in our arms before Friday (my due date).

Size of Baby: a mini watermelon! Anywhere from 6-8 lbs (hopefully no more than that!) and about 18-20 inches long.

Weight Gain:  Around 27 lbs, give or take a few.

Maternity Clothes: ha! Barely. Most of the maternity shirts that I own are even getting a little too snug for comfort these days. I seriously live in yoga pants and the biggest, stretchiest shirts that I (or Nick) own. I can not wait to fit into regular clothing again!

Stretch marks: *grumble grumble* yes, unfortunately. I thought they were just irritated marks from the tag in the one pair of leggings that I was wearing a lot... but alas, they have stuck around for the past 8 weeks. There are only 3 of them and they are more on my hips/side than the belly, so hopefully no more spring up within the next few days!

Symptoms: does an overall, overwhelming feeling of being uncomfortable count as a symptom? Because I seriously am just so uncomfortable all. the. time! Particularly at night. It takes me forever to get comfortable and really the only position that seems to be reasonable happens to be laying on my left side and snuggling my bumpnest pillow. Still, I wake up about every 2 hours and sometimes it takes an 1hr+ to fall back asleep (last night I was wide awake from 2-4:30am, oy). Foreshadowing of nights with newborn, perhaps?

Cravings: peaches, pineapple, ice cream, cereal (honey nut cheerios and lucky charms, specifically) and crushed ice with orange juice. also to be noted, I could eat just about anything and everything - all day long.

Gender: boy! It's still hard to believe we'll have a sweet little man running around here.

Mood: impatient! anxious! excited. nervous. happy. We are just so beyond ready to meet him, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous about 1. the delivery and 2. how it will be adjusting from our family of three to a family of four, especially for Peyton.

Nursery: is complete! I will have to get together some pictures to share. It is such a wonderful little space and I am so thankful that we were able to do what we did with it and make it as nice as it is.

Movement: yes, just not as much. He is thankfully no longer feet-first and he has definitely moved down into my pelvis in anticipation for the big day. I am waddling like a penguin, that's for sure.  But as far as his movement goes, he really does try to squirm around in there, he just has very little room so it proves to be difficult and uncomfortable for the both of us.

Sleep: see above - it is no bueno.

What I Miss:  oh, a few things - like walking up a flight of stairs without getting winded, wearing regular clothing comfortably, being able to sleep, and warm weather! The tundra-like temperatures that we have been having lately are just too much for me, especially with the windchill.

Belly Button in or out?
 Out. Wayyyyy out.

Wedding rings on or off? On. Though, I have noticed that they have become slightly snug over the past week or so.

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Not really, thank goodness.

Best Moment This Week: everyday I am thankful for Peyton's excitement about having a baby brother on the way. She makes my mama heart so happy and I am sure that seeing them together is really just going to turn me into a big puddle of sappy, happy tears every time.

Labor Signs: a few contractions here or there and plenty of pelvic pressure (including the random nerve pains from him having "dropped") but nothing crazy... I sure wish they would kick it up a notch so we can get this party started!

Looking Forward To: finally meeting our sweet little love, holding him in our arms, nuzzling his precious little noggin and inhaling his "baby smell". He is due to make his appearance by Friday, but I am certainly hoping for sooner than that. We are so, so ready to meet you, sweet boy.
